An Insulin Tracker App for Logging Doses and Context

Log insulin alongside glucose, meals, medications, and notes on iPhone so each dose has the context you want to remember.

Insulin tracking is record keeping, not dose calculation

Glucose lets you record insulin as part of the same daily log as blood sugar, carbohydrates, medications, and notes. It is designed to help you remember what you took and when.

Glucose does not calculate a bolus, recommend an insulin dose, control a pump, or replace the instructions from your clinician. If you need dosing help, use only the method and regulated tools your care team has recommended.

Why context matters in an insulin log

Looking back at a dose is easier when the related information is nearby. A useful entry may include:

  • The insulin entry and time
  • A glucose reading
  • Before- or after-meal context
  • Carbohydrates
  • A medication entry
  • A short note about the day

Not every person needs every field. Glucose keeps these records available in one timeline so you can capture the amount of context that matches your care plan.

What Glucose provides

One daily timeline

Insulin does not live in a separate corner of the app. It appears with your other entries, making it easier to reconstruct the day without switching between multiple logs.

Tags and notes

Meal timing and custom context can make a record easier to recognize later. Notes are helpful for exceptions, but they should stay short enough that logging remains sustainable.

Longer-term review

Glucose can show averages and trends for the information you record. These views can help organize questions for an appointment. They do not determine cause and effect or tell you how to change treatment.

Exportable history

PDF and CSV exports can help you bring a readable history to your care team. Before sharing any health report, confirm that it contains only the information and date range you intend to disclose.

Choosing an insulin logging app

Before choosing any app, decide which job you actually need it to do:

NeedWhat to look for
Remembering dosesFast manual entry, timestamps, and notes
Seeing doses with glucoseA combined timeline and useful filters
Sharing a historyClear PDF or CSV export
Pump control or automated deliveryA compatible, regulated system—not a general logbook
Dose recommendationsA clinician-approved calculator or medical device available in your region

Glucose focuses on the first three jobs. It intentionally should not be presented as an automated dosing tool.
